DESUL identifies critical problems and important knowledge gaps in areas of our specialties; establishes rigorous solutions to bridge those gaps; and then disseminates what has been innovated to influential leaders, policymakers and end users.  Our work is fleshed out in a “radical change of direction” to describe how a particular set of problems could be transferred to a valuable set of solutions.
